Members of the Porthmadog &  District Amateur Radio Society at their meeting last Thursday evening in the  Madoc yacht Club, were treated to a well illustrated talk by Simon Poyser on the  subject of radio via Echo Link and Phased Shift Keyin.

 Simon illustrated his talk with  practical demonstrations of the subjects, for the Echo Link he made contact with  an amateur radio station in the USA, for the Phaded Shift Keying he was in  contact with an amateur radio station in Italy.

 Both modes of communication were the  cause for much discussion amongst members with Simon answering questions on  technicalities even to the construction of the aerial in use, which Simon  informed the meeting he had made himself. members voted the talk and  demonstration to be one of the best they had heard.

 For our next meeting in the above  venue on Thursday 21st. August at 7-45 P.M. members will be taking part in the  annual quiz to which visitors are invited to come and take part.t.
